I do 20kpa so feel your pain. Surely 30mins spent applying another coat is worth it though?

Brake more gently then, I got 3 years and 30k out of my pads, including two track days!coupedan wrote: ↑Mon Aug 07, 2017 5:51 pmBeen there.. done that.. I sealed them when I first got them (After a refurb) with Gtechniq C5 and it was great until about 8 months later when all the dirt started to stick again.
I know darker cars need contrast but doing the sort of mileage I do... I get very annoyed with brake dust!
Seriously though, try e-pads, much less dust.

Your car looks great OP!
Obviously you had a good starting point with a Montego Coupe anyway (!) but the stance and wheels really add a bit of menace to how it looks!
I know what you mean about brake dust, but I wouldn't want to go as dark as Anthracite - there must be something lighter than that, but a bit darker than OEM.

Can second that - they feel firmer than stock pads too.
Ride height looks perfect, OP.

I suppose it doesn't take too long to put on another coat of a sealant on but sometimes my car can go 3-4 weeks without a wash, by which point they look well and truly manky!
I have heard about E-pads.. I'll have to give them a go once my pads give up the ghost.. they are fairly new-ish (Only replaced last year)
Mr Tidy, Thanks I was thinking of going Shadow Chrome or I saw on Mr Wilks Instagram (AndyBmWheels) this colour which I am digging. In terms of how the car will look on dark wheels, I think Joycey's car looks amazing! z4pilot, Ride quality.. it's a strange one, I think it is so much more composed, less crashy but is a bit bouncy (Not uncomfortable) but definitely feels more planted and handles bumps a lot better.
My other half said it's really bouncy and commented on "How it never used to be this stiff" (oo-er, no pun intended)
I would say that my shocks were absolutely ruined so it made a massive difference to the drive-ability to the car overall.
In my opinion.. I'd say go for it

Do I assume your car is on non runflats and has mainly been driven on a motorway.

It was on runflats from about 40k to 60k but yes, mainly motorway but B roads off of the motorways.Magicarcher wrote: ↑Fri Aug 18, 2017 3:58 pm Do I assume your car is on non runflats and has mainly been driven on a motorway.
Prior to 40k (when I purchased it) I don't know whether it was on runflats or not.

At the other end of the spectrum, I picked up my Z with 25k on the clock, two owners, the last owner averaged 1k per year and left it in the garage the rest of the time. Underneath was spotless not rust anywhere (even rear brake pipes still original olive green). Both rear springs had been replaced by BMW at 24k! I know I should probably be more rational, but at times spring breakages appear random.
Another interesting fact, I once owned a Citroen C3 (OK we all make mistakes) at 9 years old the front nearside spring broke. I found out that there had been a recall for this failure. The VIN number for my car was 50 outside the recall range. I kicked up a fuss with Citroen and they replaced both springs free of charge. Given virtually every Z4 suffers broken springs, I don't understand why BMW doesn't do similar (well I do I guess!)
