As heart-wrenching as it was to experience 9-11 as a spectator (fortunately, nobody I knew was in NYC / DC @ the time) I don't think I will ever understand the hardship experienced by those first hand. I have the utmost respect in all the people involved (direct and indirect) in the effort to raise us up again as a proud nation. God Bless them all.

I was part of a Government Source Inspection of fin and boom tail components that are part of 120mm M1A1 tank rounds. An IT dewd interupted us that a plane crashed into one of the WTC towers. My first thought was that I remembered an old newspaper account of a WWII bomber that had crashed into the Empire State building, perhaps this is the same situation. We turned on the conference room TV and stayed mesmerized. I went home and didn't turn the TV off for days.

Was sitting in bed watching as the second plane hit. I've now got a compulsive need in the mornings to turn on the news and make sure no new "man made disaster" has happened.
