From yesterday we have appeared on the FotoStelvio website ....http://2015.fotostelvio.com/find-your-f ... 11100]/40/

Not many pictures from me today - to busy driving in some pretty hot weather for the Alps - we measured over 40 degC in one of the Longer Tunnels .

After heading up the Mountain near our hotel this morning to look at some mountains from a static vantage point - the three remaining cars split up , Jax and Myself are in Switzerland the Scotts have headed for all things BMW in Munich.

so today Jax and Zermatt took on the San Benadino Pass and then after passing through the longest tunnel in Switzerland and the third longest in the world the Gotthard Tunnel in Switzerland which runs from Göschenen into Airolo in Ticino to the south, and is 16.9 kilometres (10.5 mi) in length .

We then headed up the Furka Pass (2,429 metres (7,969 ft)) made famous in Goldfinger and this was a stunner with countless switchbacks and i think ive finally mastered getting the 997 out of the hairpin with the right level of power ( easier said then done) , straight after the Furka we headed up the
The Grimselpass (3,789 m) .

On arrival at out hotel we took off the the outdoor local pool for a much needed cool off and looked up the mountainside to a waterfall where a Famous detective met his watery end .... can you guess where we are.

Tomorrow is a chilling day before sadly we have to start the long journey home.

We are having a fantastic time - we have seen a number of different groups out and about in the Alpes all with a story to tell, we even met a guy in Modena with a brand new M4 Convertible which was European factory delivery - deal was he got to drive it in Europe for 10 days before it was shipped back to him in .... Calgary Canada ( Pity he had kerbed two wheels on it :( )

At a guess, you're in, or near, Meiringen and can see the Reichenbach Falls? Are you going to visit the museum?

So all rejoined together back in Koln yesterday evening after some long sections of Autobahn with heavy traffic and diversions adding to the fun after leaving Luzern and Munich in the Morning. Some chances to open the 997 open a bit on the Autobahn but a lot of sections at 80 km/h due to roadworks. but it was baking 39 to 40 deg C being measured around Frankfurt.

Just about 3 hours to run back to the Ferry today although we will need to pick our route to miss the traffic that will come with Le Tour which starts in Utrecht today.

Photo Catch up.... Tom will arrive with the more crafted versions later...

Targa @ the top of the Stelvio ( the full trio photo will come from Tom and its a a stunner)

Its been an incredible 10-12 days from the hot plains of Super Car Valley to the even Hotter Alpine passes of which we completed - The Susten, The Julier, The San Marco, The Stelvio, The San Bernadinho The Furka and the Grimsel Pass.

Visited the 911 and Boxter Production line and Porsche Museum, Ferrari Maranello and the Enzo Ferrari Museum n Modena, had a factory tour of Pagani where we saw Horacio himself and then a coffee stop opposite Lamborghini where one of the Lamborghini guys whilst taking hes Espresso took a photo of my Targa 8) . The Scotts also packed in BMW in Munich .

its difficult to think of ow on a future trip we can equal this one its had a bit of everything - fantastic company, brilliant weather , outstanding roads and some breathtaking museums and sights.

onward to the Ferry but a pretty happy bunny this morning :driving:

Good summary indeed and was pleased to be part of it

For a diversion avoiding Utrecht, I think I would target Venlo, Breda, Rotterdam and go up from there.

Have a safe trip back... Make sure Allan doesn't get wet, it'll mess up his hair - and he hates that :D

thanks PVR but looking at the route it is a south west route so i was thinking of heading North.....

http://www.letour.fr/le-tour/2015/us/stage-2.html

Le tour is headed for Rotterdam and Gouda before finishing in Zeeland.

it was a pleasure to have you on board would have loved to done some of the other passes as a bigger group particurlaly as i got the PDK dialed in correctly later in the trip. Perry there will be others :D
