Delivery advice.

Post by Ark0506 » Sun Apr 28, 2013 10:36 am

Hello,

I've jumped ship and sold my Audi TT for a new 2013 LCI Z4. So far, I've been impressed by BMW but we seem to have ran in to a few problems with delivery. I ordered the car at the end of Feb; initially I was told the 26 Apr which has now incrementally moved right with a delivery date of 18 May. According to the dealer the car has been built but they are waiting for it to be shipped to the UK. Has anyone had a similar experience and if so, did the car arrive earlier than planned?

Unfortunately I'm leaving the UK for 7 weeks on the 12 May so I'd like a few days in the new car before departing.

Thanks again.

Frustrating! Apparently all down to the production line having to be modified for the LCI version. Surely with such small modifications on the LCI version the delay would be minimal?

BMW in Cardiff is now hassling me for my car to be handed over to them (in order to secure the trade in value). Bizarre situation of handing my old car over weeks before the new one arrives.

Anyway, good things come to those who wait (a bit longer) I guess.

I don't know about delivery issues, but if you have a written contract with them for a trade in against your new car, and they can't deliver the car then that's their problem. They should've factored delays into their valuation... And if they didn't know then tough. Unless they are going to give you very nice new shiny courtesy car to drive around in until yours arrives

Cheers for the advice. I've just emailed the dealership and ask for a courtesy car. I'll keep you all updated.

Hi and welcome.
Was talking to Quadracer yesterday and he's had some issues related to delayed delivery. If they need yours then they can lend you a nice 130 for a few weeks :)

Hi all,

Cardiff BMW pulled out all the stops and I collected the car yesterday - fantastic: Image

Nice!

The delay must be Z4-centric as our 118d was supplied by Cardiff ahead of schedule. They were spot-on to deal with, but thankfully we had no p/x to haggle over and sadly p/x values change by the week these days. Our old man has already handed his p/x in 2 months before he takes delivery of his new Golf to maximise his p/x value, and a friend is trolling his ALPINA around now ...and he doesn't get his new wheels until September
