Links and web browsers

Post by PaulN » Thu May 22, 2008 12:03 pm

Is there any chance when you click on a link it opens up a new web browser rather than the current one......... ive lost count how many times ive closed down a picture or link to find the forum one gone!

Cheers

If you right click on a link there should be an option to open in a new window/tab ?

If link has been posted using the 'url' coding then they should open in a new window/tab anyway shouldnt they?

You'd think, but lately on this forum you're taken directly to the new web site, leaving the forum.

Not always - I have exactly the same issue. Follow a link, close it and I'm out to my desktop on my ear....

mmm, I didnt realise there was different behavior when you use a URL link or not.

Web standards suggest you should not force a user to open a new window so the correct action is to open the link in the same window, if you user wants a new window they can right click and ask for it
