Wheel refurb - coloured or OEM thoughts?

Post by Guiseley » Thu Nov 10, 2011 1:33 pm

As the winter wheels will shortly be making a repeat appearance, I'm tempted to refurb the summer MV2s on my 06 Coupe. Anyone got any good recommendations for where to get them done? Also ideas about costs as I'm a newbie to wheel refurbs.

Also, thoughts about colour or OEM on a Monaco Coupe?

Cheers, Tony.

Hi Tony, I used http://www.thewheelspecialist.co.uk/locations/leeds/ at Garforth for my Lotus, just drop your motor off in the morning pick up at the end of the day, they did a great job I think the damage was about £240 2008

Used these as well for a refurb on my wifes 3 series. As Mitchy, dropped of at 8am and collected at 5pm. 19" wheels powder coated (better certainly than original BMW finish, new valves and caps £340 and 10% discount for BMW club members. Nice bunch of guys who took and interest in what they were doing.

I would suggest for MV2s and the colour of your car to keep them as they are, or perhaps add a light hint of 'shadow chrome' to them. That way, the wheels will be a tiny bit darker, reflect the light better, and show less dirt.

Unfortunately I can't help you with where to take them, having never refurbished a wheel in my life!

OEM for MV2s IMO

Anything else on MV2 wouldn't look right

The MV3's look absolutely stunning in shadow chrome, so why not the MV2?

Previous comment taken back!! Black Shadow Chrome looks fantastic

You'd need a dark coloured car IMO for them to go well together

I wasn't sure about the new wheel colour at first but I like them now.

I only found it after googling after seeing it mentioned in this thread!

My new MV2 wheels will be here next week but now it's going to be tough to hold off getting them done in shadow chrome :P
