There will no doubt be an E89 member answering soon, but after looking at one on the BMW stand over at the FoS last Friday, the boot looks a little larger with the roof up. That of course is completely destroyed when down although I guess it would be fine if you were carrying shallow objects.

- E89 is 180 litres with roof open and stored and 300 litres with the roof closed.
- E85 is 240 litres with the roof up yet reduced to just 220 litres with it down.

All depends if you want to put the roof down with more than a pair of underpants in the boot, I will not buy an E89 or any metal folding roof car becuase if this, whats more there are struts running in funny places that make the shape even more awkward than E85.
Fair play to all those that have and can live with it but I couldn't.

I saw a guy with the room down in an E89 the other day putting something in the boot and it looked really small. I'm really surprised about the boot size in my e85 roadster, large for what it is.

Whilst on the national meet lakes run we all stopped off at Batemans and they had a E89 on display which had the roof down and the boot space was pitiful imo

who speaks french?

Hayon arriere s'ourvant largement vers le haut. Vaste compartiment a baggage dont le volume peut varier jusqu a 340 litres

I think that means the coupe as 340 litres

The only problem I find with the e89 is that to put a shopping bag in you have to raise the roof first, however it is amazing how much you can actually get in and have the roof down.

Every week I get a small suitcase (cabin sized), a cooler bag, laptop shoulder case, two large reusable grocery bags full of the weekend shopping and a coat and I can still have the top down :)
