This One Probably Not for Your Z4...

Post by mikedav » Mon Apr 04, 2011 10:05 pm

As this is the roadtrip section, I thought I would post up one i did in 2009... Some will have already seen it so apologies to them. Myself and friends did the Mongol Rally, about 9000 miles from London to Ulaan Baatar, Mongolia via 18 countries including Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Russia. You have to do it in a crappy car, hence the £400 Hyundai painted with spray cans.

We covered much of Europe on the way down to Turkey including Serbia so there may be some useful info for Z4 based trips. You can read a full write up ate http://www.the-unprofessionals.co.uk

PS - would be worth trying in a Zed, although i somehow thing you'd end up driving back in a £400 Hyundai painted with spray cans. :)

Well mostly roads, no roads for the last 1000KM or so :)

The going isn't too bad most of the way, but I wouldn't take a Z4 past Turkey, you would stand out like a very sore thumb....!
