I am far from convinced that the hot water did much good... but it still soaking (cold now).... in the meantime, with a pen-knife, small screwdriver and gentle use of a car interior removal tool thing I got the second one apart dry in about an hour or an hour 15.
you have to work on them whilst they are hot and the sealant is soft

I put them in boiling water and checked a few times and there seemed to be little to no softening. I shall try again and attack them with a knife soft this time.

Edit - didn't bother re-heating in the end, but the softened and soaked light took less than half the time of the dry one.

Lol, yeah.. :D

Just need to pull off the cowling and see if the car is pre-wired, it's 56 plate 07, so unsure if it will be. Fingers crossed, but no biggie if not.

Fitted BC Racing BR coilovers on my Z4 last week. Am planning on lowing the car a little more today but that almost didn't happen; someone ran a red light and almost t-boned me at ~55mph

Just checked and mine is wired, so that’s a bonus.

That's lucky, I think I did read, that Colb said in facelift cars they started adding the wiring back in for the mfsw

MFSW wiring should be in all Cars manufactured from October 2003
Previous to this to get MFSW to function you need a 2 wire modification from the Squib green plug to the LCM

Gents! Ripped out the absorbant foam, thanks for the tips by the way, live and learn!

Rust treated & protected the inside of both doors (even though there was no signs of any rust at all) Replaced with butyl foil panels and a layer of closed cell foam. Installed oem speakers from umfaan and connected to the tweeter line, easy as and it all works a treat. Huge difference! Car doors feel and sound heavier and the audio quality in the cabin has improved 10 fold.

While I was working a bloke rode up the street with a split in his tyre, I offered some tyre weld but said it probably wouldn't work (it didnt), he then begged for money and food, I made him a sandwhich and some water, refused him dosh and he drive off with a flat tyre having 5 fingered my jack, and leccy tape. No reward for kindness these days, geezers probably used it to nick one of my neighbours wheels I bet...

So I need to buy a new jack, as my radiator replacement has just arrived, current ones cracked and not leaking slow.. then will refill the coolant and bleed the system

Just remembered, my mate who had this exact exhaust set up (same OE cats, X-pipe & Cans) that Donny evening session we met at last April was out on track with no issues, so unless they've changed their criteria since I should be ok!
