run flats

Post by petrocelli » Mon Apr 22, 2024 7:12 pm

what is the thinking on these ?
Replacing the rf's is a cost I am prepared for in swapping to a coop but what happens when you get a puncture ?
Never had a car that didn't have spare wheel so will be new territory for me.
Come tothink of it never had a BMW before.Tne last 50 years have been mostly Volvo estates as daily driver and various Porsche stuff as a Sunday afternoon car since retiring.

run flats

Most people prefer non-runflats on their Z4s.

You can carry some Tyre-Weld or similar and a compressor, or "rats-tails" but I got a 17" space-saver and a jack from an E46 3 Series for my previous Coupe, but it needs to be a 17" one to fit over the larger front brakes on a 3.0Si and only 330i/d models had those.

Now I've got an MC it doesn't have run-flats so I carry a jack, breaker bar, torque wrench and a full size front wheel in the boot. Although there isn't much boot left! But it means if I'm on one of B21s trips in Scotland and get a puncture I can just carry on. :D

My old 330i daily came with run-flats and I've left them on for convenience, because ultimate driving capability doesn't matter in that!
Coupes because stunning!
