E85 - how do I access this….?

Post by JimmyRichE85 » Sun Apr 07, 2024 9:28 pm

I was giving my recently acquired E85 a quick clean this weekend and discovered an area that has stumped me on how to access for cleaning …. It’s essentially the gap between the seats and the rear window- this area disappearing when the hood comes down but is inaccessible when the hood is up! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated 🙏😎

As someone who has changed quite a few roof motors, I would suggest remove the parcel shelf then fold yourself into the boot.

With the roof up, open boot and pull the canvas from the parcel shelf edge and you will have a small gap to wipe the shelf. Or, wind delfector away, roof up, parcel shelf up and you can reach the shelf between the roll hoops. Avoid standing on your knees on the passenger seat or you risk to damage the occupancy sensor, though.

Thank you - sounds like I best start practicing some pilates before attempting the body bending :) !!

Some good advice here - thank you - I thought it was me going mad but sounds like this is not so straight forward as you would think - hence why I don't think it's been done in a long time ;)
