SOLD - 2010 E89 30i MSport Manual 58k FBMWSH
58000 miles - Full BMW main dealer history - 2 previous owners
Superb condition black sapphire metallic with heated ivory white leather sports seats.
I have owned the car for 9 years and it has been used as a summer/weekend car under my ownership and always kept garaged.
326M 19in alloys in super condition, no kerbing.
Goodyear Eagle F1 non runflats with lots of tread remaining.
2 keys, full history file with all MOTs and service receipts from my ownership & the previous keeper.
Fully stamped main dealer service history - although the brake fluid was not changed at the last service as I was covering so few miles.
Next service due Nov 2024.
Car is always stored away on CTEK charge over the winter months.
Drives like new and has been totally reliable - the only issue during my ownership was a cracked rear alloy, which was replaced, when the car was still on runflats.
Note that car has no idrive/satnav or cruise control.
I am near Perth, Scotland.
I thought I would pop this on here quickly for anyone looking for a good one before it goes on Autotrader.Superb condition black sapphire metallic with heated ivory white leather sports seats.

I have the same interior combination on my F31, ivory and fine dark wood trim. Makes the car look really classy inside without being old-fashioned IMO.
GLWTS.

There are these modern things called whatsapp and car couriers, these days. I have bought loads of cars in the past few years without physically seeing any of them until they turn up on a trailer. Not had a (very) bad one yet!

Keep thinking then. It's only in Scotland so much easier than in Ireland!
Looks like a stunning Z4 that is a credit to the OP, and 30i E89s seem to be quite rare.
Coupes because stunning!

Cue shameless plug for my 30i sale, not sure where you are but I’m in Essex which is a long way from Scotland. Mine is an auto SE, which I love (I did start out looking for a manual). Almost identical spec, although I do have a sat nav which is a little dated( no idrive) but it does have cruise control.

Ireland would actually be easier for me, I'm in Wales. Scotland is a 15 hour round trip!

I did see yours Boris, but really would prefer a manual. Although I am finding it tough to get something that fits the bill.Big Bad Boris wrote: ↑Fri Apr 05, 2024 10:02 pmCue shameless plug for my 30i sale, not sure where you are but I’m in Essex which is a long way from Scotland. I'm from Scotland and over the years have travelled to Doncaster, Peterborough, Solihull, Derby and South Wales for cars all have been day trips. If its the car you have been looking for make the trip. There may not be another for a while.

Travel to the car by train / plane or whatever, then enjoy the drive home or a few days in Scotland - treat it as a short break away and not a chore
I’ve done long trips to collect cars and would definitely do it again.

So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.

In 2024 you don't need to, though. As long as the seller is genuine and happy to supply all the info needed, a 'virtual viewing' via whatsapp is almost as good as seeing a car in person. Sometimes better IME.
With the cost of vehicle logistics aswell these days (they are everywhere), it is generally cheaper to get a car delivered to your door than spend a day (or two) on expensive trains, hotels and fuel driving it home.
One of the few positives to come out of Covid is the buying and selling of cars unseen IMO. Admittedly you have to do your homework with a private sale and satisfy yourself the seller is honest and genuine, and ask the right questions, but it is do-able with minimal risk.
One advantage is that the car will have 200-300 miles less on it when you get it home!

I suppose the bottom line is don’t let the distance put you off a purchase.
Your options are many and varied

Most car logistics people will do an appraisal on a car when they go to collect it, if you ask them. They do it everyday. It's now accepted that is part of their job.
Once they are happy the car is as you expect, they will call you, you pay the seller and they stick it on their trailer. They will have insurance so no comeback on you or the seller if there is a problem in transit.
Another problem with going to see a car a long way away, is you always buy a one way train or plane ticket. No-one buys a return ticket 'just in case', as that would potentially be money and time wasted. So by doing that you are committed. Like it or not, realistically you are going home with the car. Then you have to have mobile banking on your phone to pay when you are there, etc, etc.
Much less stress, hassle and potentially cost to do it 'distance' IMO.
I am a big fan, which may be obvious!
