Backrest Rear Panel

Post by Gwest44 » Wed Mar 20, 2024 5:10 pm

My current E89 doesn't have the storage compartment package and consequently there is no net on the backrest rear panel.

However, the retaining clips and also the upper and lower retaining rings are all present.

With the much bemoaned absence of cup holders and general lack of cabin storage I cant help think that someone must have made effective use of this space but a search on the forum has thrown up nothing.

So come on don't be shy show us what you've done to maximise that unique E89 storage space which is the back rest rear panel

The best way to use this space is to hang garment bags full of clothes on each hook at the top of the roll hoops. If you hang clothes there you can fit essentially another two bags worth in the car.

For that space I have the net, I keep a few various bits, CDs, first aid kit, a windscreen pad, two caps. Passengers can put handbags there too!

Missing cargo net.
Try in ebay or breakers.

If you have the seats full back then there’s not much space left behind there..if you have a 676/677 amp then you need a bit of air for the subs..
We choose to go to on with this endeavour at this time and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard…
A very modified Atacama Yellow 35is

I put all sorts back there on mine, baseball cap (when not in use, obviously!), tyre compressor, ice scrapper, etc, very useful

My wife would like that, she’s forever moaning that there’s no back seat to put things on
Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.
