Z4 windows don't like the cold

Post by fatbaldboy » Mon Jan 22, 2024 10:23 pm

When it's freezing and i unlock the car...they do a little 'up-down dance'.

Just the amount they go down when you open the door...then up. The passenger side did it three times yesterday. Bit like an excited puppy wagging it's tail when it's owner returns home.

Only happens when it's freezing.

An old credit card (or similar. I use a library card from when I could read) is your friend to stop burning the window motors out here.

When my windows are frozen they don't move at all... I have to give them a gentle push to free them so the door can be opened.

Boiling water is good, as long as you have Autoglass on speed dial! :D

It happens when the windows themselves aren't frozen - just freezing air temperature.

Weird.

If we get freezing weather again soon I'll try to get it on video.
