Nope. E89s don't have internal roof drains, as they are hardtops. All the water is (supposed) to run on the outside kept out by all the miles of rubber seals.
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

F31 320i. Good car.
E89 20i Now fully dried
Z3 'free litre'. Project and a half. Complicated!
Mazda3 sold
Tatty old R56 Mini Cooper. Money pit!

Might be an idea for someone to sit inside the car and another to use a pressure washer on the outside, you might then be able to see where the water is coming from.

Hi Portis, this doesn't seem to be that common on e89 but there is loads of the same door membrane problems showing up.

Discussed here, viewtopic.php?t=94907

Look at this at about 6.30.

You say your membrane is good but are you certain it hasn't been lifted before and not sealed back properly?
I'd say on a 2016 car your seals shouldn't perish, more likely something not refitted correctly, and you are looking for a sizeable leak.
Is the boot dry, under the battery etc? Does the roof work properly? Has the windscreen been replaced? Have you checked underneath the car?
Problem with water of course is it can pool a long way from where it enters.
On your other thread on carpet removal, it might be worth the commitment to stripping it completely, at least you can do some proper tests with a hosepipe and you can dry it completely once you crack the problem.

Just seen your other update, glad you are on the right track.
I wonder if you are parking the car on a slope and this is why you have this seemingly rare problem.

I got water in the boot on my E85, when I parked it nose uphill.
Never a problem when pointing down hill or level.

Yes, the boot is all dry. The door membrane is definitely all well stuck down. I checked right round.
I have got two threads. Apologies.
Roof works perfect. Nothing is out of place. It's most odd. Just this leak coming in now at the inside. How, we don't yet know. Winscreen doesn't appear to let anything through anywhere. Just it starts seeping water when the top screen drains start channeling it away
