MOT failure - rear fog lights
Long shot putting it here but there is a lot of knowledge so thought I would give it a try.
I have a 2015 KIA Sportage that has been completely issue free since I have owned it (from 6monthsbold). However the first MOT failure has occured and I am stumped
Fog lights (front and back) are not working, I didn't even notice TBH. I was told I only need to sort the rear ones as the fronts are not an MOT failure.
When switching on there is no indication on the dash. Fuse is fine and I can't find a relay that seems to be relevant to the fog lights. Surely it's not possible that all the bulbs have failed together? The stem could be faulty I guess but all other functions on the stick work fine.
Any ideas?

Just to add I don't have a tow bar, I know there have been a few issues of a fault where the vehicle thinks a trailer is plugged in.

Does it make any difference what setting the lights are at?
I had older cars where if you selected main beam it switched off the fogs.

Hmmm. As you say, most likely to be one common component. Do they all operate off one switch?

Is it an import or is it a genuine UK model? Japanese market cars don't have rear fog lights for example (the lens might be there but there is no wiring etc).

When you say the fuse is fine, have you swapped it or just a visual check?
Also double check there isn’t another fuse affecting it.

It was visually fine but I changed it anyway. The fuse panel and the manual does not seem to have any other fuses or relays for the fog lights (not even one listed for the front fogs).

Looking online at Kia forums, seems to be quite common for the stalk switch to play up. Someone said to 'wiggle' stalk up, down, in and out to see if they flash when selected.
Another thread said to check ALL fuses, as the relay could be powered by a different circuit.

All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

Thanks pondrew, I will try that, probably tomorrow now as new years eve chores need to be done ready for the evening celebration.
