In case this is of interest to anyone, the July 2023 issue of Car Mechanics (UK magazine) has a feature on fault finding & fixing problems for the E89 roadster roof.
Happy to upload the images if that's allowed?

Certainly. My roof has been flawless over the last 10 years but after troubleshooting a relatives Audi A5 roof I know how useful a bit of documentation can be.

Article only covers hydraulic fixes, which i assume are rare.
They need to do each micro/Hall switch sensor and wire repairs.
