There has been less driving and photos than usual for some reason this season.
The season started with a visit to the workshop for a few weeks due to a leaking ac compressor. More on that in this thread. The ac is now working but I'm not convinced that the replacement (used) compressor not going to cause another leakage. It became rather expensive, so I don't want to be forced to do it again.
Anyway, I revisited one of my favorit drivning roads, located between Älekulla and Kungsäter, during the spring. I stoped at the same location as featured in the autumn photos on previous page.
Here are the photos with spring colors instead. In mid July I have had the car for 4 years. It was celebrated by having the Z4 on display at Halmstad Sportscar Event. It was nice event with a lot of interesting cars to look at.
On the way home from Halmstad, I stoped for a photo at the rather beautiful location Glommen.

Lovely photos again, you seem to have a knack with taking nice ones.
Now, Sterling grey Z4 2.2 with cup holders, stubby aerial and sport seats. Roadsters ‘cause they’re great with the roof down.
Ford Anglia, Red Sprite, a few MG midgets, MGB Roadster and yellow Ford Capri, all gone many years now.

About time to do an update and add some photos to this thread.
The Z4 is now in hibernation waiting for spring.
The hibernation was delayed about a month this year due to some bad luck with a workshop visit.
In the spring the AC compressor was replaced with a used unit due to oil leakage. The AC has worked okay all summer. However, the replacement compressor was still leaking some oil. Not much, but enough to create oil stains on the under tray after longer drives. The used unit was not sufficient, so a deal was made with the workshop that installed it to replace it with a completely new original BMW unit.
Unfortunately the workshop managed to do a small dent in the front fender during the installation. The workshop claimed responsibility and the dent should be fixable using PDR method. But before a PDR technician was booked the winter arrived in Gothenburg. So we agreed on that the dent repair will be carried out in the spring instead.
Before the Z4 were put in hibernation I managed to go on some weekend drives. Once again driving one of my favorite roads in the area and having a coffee break at Stora Sävsjö. The sun made a short appearance during the coffee break creating an absolutely stunning scenery.

Thanks, Griffo
The weather has been remarkable dark and rainy so far this Christmas holiday.
I'm spending some time looking back at photos from this summer. I'm editing some photos from a memorable evening drive in August. I had stopped for some photos at Fjärås Bräcka on my way home, like I usually do. The late summer scenery was amazing with purple heather flowering across the landscape.
The soft evening light also made for a good photo opportunity in the fields below the Bräcka (drumlin).

It's finally summer! These are some photos from a few days ago.
This year I have mostly left my camera at home when out drivning the Z4. I have just focused on enjoying the car without constantly looking for photo opportunities. It's a lovey car to drive!

It is getting colder outside and Z4 season is almost over for me. I will put the Z4 into hibernation before the end of October.
So time to recap the last few months.
Here is some sunset images from early August. In the summer I had the yearly statutory inspection done (similar to MOT testing in UK). The car was fine but the technician showed me that there were some slight play at the front lower control arm bushes. That surprised me because those were replaced with original BMW parts just before I bought the car 5 years ago. Since the I have driven it about 25 000 km. I expected the bushes to last longer than that. The play was not that bad, but eventually the bushings need to be replace again.
A summertime photo. Not long after I bought the Z4 I had a full set of Goodyear Eagle F1 ASY5 installed. Now the rear tires have not much thread left. It is almost down to the legal limit of 1.6 mm. The fronts still has plenty of thread left, roughly 4-5 mm.
Looking at the wear pattern on the tires, they are worn more in the middle. This indicates that I have run with too high tire pressures. I have used what is stated by BMW on the label in the driver's doorsill. 2.3 bar (33 psi) front and 2.7 bar (39 psi) rear. Apparently that has been too high pressure with the Goodyear non-RFT tires.
The last two months I have instead used 2.2 bar (32 psi) front and 2.4 bar (35 psi) rear. Hopefully that works better. Anyway, I need new rear tires for next season so I will order Goodyear Eagle F1 ASY6 (as ASY5 has been replaced by ASY6) in the spring.
At the end of August the Z4 had a major milestone. It passed 100 000 km on the odometer! And now, in the end of October, the Z4 will be 17 years old. Still looking fantastic! At last, a photo from one of my usual photo locations; Fjärås bräcka. This time with harvesting in action.
