Air Con Max

On my 335 there is also a MAX button
It has started to play up recently- if I press it, the system goes to max chill (16°c) but only runs for a few minutes the system seems to go very limp ie the max blow goes off.

Switching back to normal mode I can dial in a low temp and it blows cold - I suspect a dealer trip and a £250 contribution to the insurance.

I’m hoping it might be low refrigerant as it has never been topped up since new - 8years!

I’ve done an internet trawl but found nothing to give me any clues.

You don't stop playing when you get old - You get old when you stop playing!
So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.

MAX sometimes does other thing like setting it to max fan and turning the heated rear window on. Battery issue?

The battery is old (6) but this was on a hot day and no other real current draw. The car is Diesel and cranks strongly.
The hard blow stopped while driving and came back on after a few seconds on one day but stopped and didn’t today.

As I said, I’m hoping it could be low refrigerant?

If it blows really cold in other scenarios Ron, it's not a refrigerant issue. The refrigeration circuit is a "works or doesn't" kind of thing; the controls are another matter.
All good things come to those who wait. I'm really impatient which explains a lot.

I’ve got a warranty with a £250 excess so it’s not the end of the world .
