Ha Ha - glad about that. The one pictured does look odd not I see it again. Could just be the angle of the photograph thoughBreaker wrote:No, your's looks fine to me, it's the pic you posted of the grey Z4. Thanks. The exhaust trims are the standard ones.
One thing I am going to keep an eye on is heat build up from the exhaust tips on the carbon. It gets a little warm after a good trip down a motorway. I guess it's no different to stock, but I may stick a piece of heat resistant tape to the underside of the exhaust cut out. It won't be seen from the rear.

Re: Fitting the OEM Carbon rear diffuser ('07 coupe)
As part of my project I had to cut a lot off the diffuser and wondered if it would respond to heat to bend or roll edges. Heat gun on full for 5 minutes made no impact at all until eventually it started to smoulder. It took tremendous heat Vs what could get to it from the tip of an exhaust, so I'd not be too worried.Breaker wrote: One thing I am going to keep an eye on is heat build up from the exhaust tips on the carbon. Thanks for that.
I'll just keep an eye on it.
I guess they do use carbon fibre as muffler material on motorbikes thinking about it!

By the way, I'm now thinking of taking the Z4 badge off the rear as I think it will look better without it now!
What do you think?

I have never liked the Z badge. I did not have it on my previous Z either and you don't get it with the M.

Re: Fitting the OEM Carbon rear diffuser ('07 coupe)
Thinking of de-///M'ing mine, as all my M5s have had non-M badging but I think giving it a 432i badge would look daft, so it's likely to be a simple removal of all 3 M badges instead.

Re: Fitting the OEM Carbon rear diffuser ('07 coupe)
After seeing the carbon diffuser on Brawn GP's F1 car and its performance, I am very interested in getting one for my Z4. Does the rear carbon diffuser increase the downforce and improve stability at speed on your coupe?Breaker wrote:Thanks, and 1 week on it hasn't fallen off yet either!!

Re: Fitting the OEM Carbon rear diffuser ('07 coupe)
Not really noticed any improvement. I guess only a track day comparison would give a true reading though.ksher wrote:After seeing the carbon diffuser on Brawn GP's F1 car and its performance, I am very interested in getting one for my Z4. It doesn't matter really if it works or not because it looks so much cooler than stock! It really does make a difference to the back of the car. Photos don't do it justice!
I'm thinking of adding the little carbon boot spoiler now also!

Love the look Breaker. I didn't realise they were so well priced (well it is compared to the AC Schnitzer Carbon Diffuser I was considering before!). Having seen this, I'm a little more interested now..
Do you have a link?Caddyshk wrote:Aftermarket versions are available for M's if anyone is interested.

Looks great - do you have a shot from the side, just to see what it looks like in profile when fitted ?
Cheers
