Nice review by Petrol Ped,

It would look geat on my drive but somehow I would be left wanting on that Sunday drive, reminds me a little of my Z4 which had the wrong engine.
Lovely to sit in though and polish
Tim.

Perhaps you should ask Jaguar how much an F type with NO engine is!

I like it,looks good in red.The only trouble is you will always hanker after the bigger engine once you have driven it for a while.

It would still have been down by about 200hp compared to my 140i but 200hp more compared to my i10Smartbear wrote: ↑Sat Dec 02, 2017 3:00 pmYou should have got it mapped Tim, would have been lovely to drive as wellTitanTim wrote: ↑Sat Dec 02, 2017 12:50 pm Nice review by Petrol Ped,

The red looks great and the way the bonnet opens reminds me of an E-Type

How many bhp is your 140i? Around 335 I thought? A mapped 20i could be as little as 30/40 bhp lessTitanTim wrote: ↑Sat Dec 02, 2017 3:23 pmIt would still have been down by about 200hp compared to my 140i but 200hp more compared to my i10Smartbear wrote: ↑Sat Dec 02, 2017 3:00 pmYou should have got it mapped Tim, would have been lovely to drive as wellTitanTim wrote: ↑Sat Dec 02, 2017 12:50 pm Nice review by Petrol Ped,

Remember the 2.0 is 300bhp .. also 50Kg lighter then the 340 BHP v6, I have driven one and to be honest apart from the racket of my V6 there is not a lot between them in terms of daily performance
Have a test drive .. ..also many thanks for the post as I did not realise that petrol ped had uploaded a 2.0 review

I like that, 56k for the convertible and I'm sure DLV can sort the exhaust sound out Strong contender after the first pcp deals finish.

As much as I love how the F-Type looks, I couldn't bring myself to buy one with a 4 cylinder engine however potent it is.
It's way out of my budget, but I'd rather have a manual Mustang V8 and nearly £20K left over! Enough for a nice Z4M maybe .....

Surely the most important aspect is how it goes, with sound being a secondary consideration?

On a hatch maybe, but for over £50K I'd want it to tick all the boxes!

I think its around 340 or so although dyno tests on standard cars they can be pushing upto 370 or so
I would never be happy with mapping an engine Rob, theres always that niggling feeling it could end in tears I never understand why people stick a JB4 on their 135/140s why not just get a more powerful car built for the job, I think a new engine for the 140i is 12k Too risky for my wallet.
