Battery Life
What ever batteries you buy they are all miles behind in terms of technology.
You would think they would have sorted something by now with the future looking to depend on the technology. The tech that is around is all integral with computer programming constantly ensuring the health of the cells. Basically a computer controlled battery, which is how they try to make a small battery like the one in your phone healthy but unfortunately what ever you do the cells degrade.
Wonder how a car cycles a battery, probably why they dont last long.

That’s impressive but I’d seriously consider replacing it for a new one before it bites you in the arse

It seems that the old lead acid type last, while the new fangled AGM types with fancy charging controls - dont !
You don't stop playing when you get old - You get old when you stop playing!
So I bought a 35is with all the toys to play with.

If it leaves you stranded somewhere, only happens at the most inconvenient time possible-I think bmw fit a sensor to detect such moments & then kill the car

Excuse my ignorance, but why would a battery need programming?

Production manufacturing of all kinds often date mark products using year & week number rather than a date, there is the code 03/25 stamped on the neg - terminal (which is 2003 week 25 = June when my car was built). The etched serial number starts 0306 as well which tally's with the year week code.
2003 2.5 SE, low miles, Sterling Grey, 108's & Eagles, no stubby here! Unmolested.

Your thread encouraged me to test my battery yesterday, under starting load the volts were dropping to below 10 when starting despite using a ctek battery conditioner.
One Bosch S5 agm battery later she starts up quicker than ever and on starting the volts went down to only 11. Ten years out of the original battery seems fair
