Check the plugs under the seats to see that everything is properly seated. Had a similar problem with my M Sport seats and that is all it was. Pushed everything in tight, put a cable tie round the plugs and all was well. Hope this helps and it is something simple.

Interesting. So are this a straight fit? Would it work in my e85 2004 3.0i?

they are really an upgrade from standard z4 seats and a lot better value than z4 sports seats

Fitted a set of E46 M3 seats in mine that I bought off Jamie_z4. Really comfy and look good too.

Did you get this sorted?
I am probably going to fit E46 M3 seats to mine at some point, even though they weigh as much as the moon.
How are you finding them, do they go low enough?

Guys, just check that your car has the necessary wiring if you are planning this mod. My car is pre-facelift (2005) and it was not pre-wired. I had to source wiring harnesses which aren't easy to find. Mine came from a BMW dealer in Lithuania. Look at the thread by FishyDave which gives a lot of helpful information.

Heated seats e46 help
Just to clarify gentlemen. If your car already has electric, heated seats then P4K1's assertion (so succinctly put) regarding my advice is correct. It should be just plug and play. However, I mistakenly believed that all pre-facelift cars were pre-wired for electric seats whether they were originally fitted with them or not. Mine was not pre-wired and so I needed the harnesses. The part number is: 61110307620 and mine came from KrastaAuto in Vilnius, Lithuania. These are not easy to find as BMW no longer produce them.
To check whether your car is pre-wired look at the yellow plug under the seat and see if either end of the plug is populated. The middle will be for airbags etc. but of the outsides of the plug are empty then the car is not pre-wired.
Hope this helps.
