Should I hammerite my nuts?
Wheel nuts of course! With the wheels all refurbed and looking sweet, the wheel nuts look a bit mank by comparison. Anyone done it?

Should I hammerite my nuts?
I've cleaned the corrosion off old wheel nuts & sprayed them before, isn't hammerite a bit gloopy to use on them?

just spray them black if it bothers you, but the paint will get chipped off soon anyway.

Hammerite is too thick IMHO. I just wire brushed mine on the grinder, sprayed brake cleaner on to degrease, and put them all in a line in the Black & Decker Workmate!
Sprayed the heads with a couple of coats of metal protecting paint from Screwfix, 10 months on, they look fine and haven't flaked/chipped, and I've prob had the wheels off a dozen times.

Should I hammerite my nuts?
Like any painting prep is the key. Once all loose paints or rust has been brushed off I found the easiest way to spray was get a bit of polystyrene and sink the threads into it leaving only the heads showing.
I also store my spare painted set this way in the garage.
It does make a difference once you have got your wheels sorted.

Should I hammerite my nuts?
To stop corrosion once clean, I wipe them (and other areas) over with ACF-50 - it's an anti-corrosion liquid that was made for aircraft, I was told about it by a biker friend
Quickly googled a review http://www.mslmagazine.co.uk/tested-acf ... on-review/

You should spray your bolts not your nuts...unless you're a converted stud.
