The black hoses loop around the base of the motor housing in a clip and this and at least one cable tie need to be snipped before it will all come out. The link here shows the view of the housing from the side that might help (step 4). viewtopic.php?t=85266

Its quite comical the position you end up in inside the boot just to access it. Smaller arms are definitely the way forward.
The hardest thing i found was snipping the cable tie holding the housing to the roof post. Once that was cut it started to move up and out, although was still quite difficult as the power cable and the pipe looped over the motor housing's bracket(you can see them going over to the left in the photo on step 4). When i pulled the housing up they needed to be moved round the bracket to allow it to come up enough to be pulled out otherwise it was too tight.

We have a thread going here called 'daves' danglers' showing just how comical, but effective, Durham Dave looks when doing the motor relocation....chapeau wrote:Its quite comical the position you end up in inside the boot.

I didn't actually cut mine. I just lost the excess in the cavity under the roof, making sure it didn't get in the way of the roof dropping or get crushed.

I meant the plastic tray thing but your pic shows it. can you put your top down with key fob? i tried coding with pa soft but i only get the windows go 1/2 down and top down light flashing red when holding down the door unlock button on the key fob. and one more thing when closing top the back latch holds on till you can here the pump giving its all then with a slight pop to unlatch it starts to close. history is the car is new to me and the old owner said top stopped 3 or 4 years ago so i'm not sure if the latch just needs to loosen up alittle.

Hi, you dont need to cut anything, although you could cut a slight half moon into the top of the motor "well" as the lines pass over it. To have a nice finish to the job remove left roof shelf bracket, lay the motor in side pocket in boot then put the bracket back, this will hold the motor secure and keep the lines away from any roof operation.

I notched the tray and the hoses and wires go up through it. I'll need to make a cover next.

Well done on getting it done. It really does give piece of mind when it is raining like it is today.rapidroy wrote:I notched the tray and the hoses and wires go up through it. I'll need to make a cover next.
I made my cover from an old ford floormat. It was almost an exact colour match and stiff enough to stand up on its own with a little velcro to hold it to the existing boot carpet. It may not be perfect but i am happy enough with it.
