Z4m brakes.

Post by Vanne » Thu Jul 27, 2017 4:19 am

So I was just wondering.. my old Z4m stock brakes, will they fit on all Z4's? i.e. non M's or M's only? Its the claws, lines and discs.

another question i have is (as you guys are pretty close to the Oz inspection and no doubt the Oz inspections are derived from the UK ones somewhere along the lines in the past) for your MOT, do you guys have to get any certificate of install for your BBK? or you just bolt it on and off you go? as long as it passes the brake test, they don't look any further?

Cheers

Yes, just bolt them on and as long as the brake performance test is good, they are secure, no leaks with decent disc and pad thickness then they pass. :)

Can't think of any reason the CLS brakes would not fit a none ///M Z4 on 18's. You also have to tell your insurance, here in UK when fitting a mod like a BBK, so they can spank your backside for making your car safer. Is that the same in Dubia?

Other than swapping in a whole M rear subframe and kingpin assembly for the rears and swapping M spindles for the fronts, no there's nothing stopping you

All this chit chat aside, I'm surprised someone hasn't said "first refusal on these please Vanne" Oops, that's me sticking my hand in the air...

Seriously, would be interested in these..

The fronts are easy enough, it's the rears that present real issues. But just doing the fronts presents bias issues for any potential adopter.
That's my opinion though. You can choose to believe the guy that has mounted his rear boxster calipers upside down so the pistons are firing in the wrong order and thinks that's OK, and all you need to do is swap M discs in. Or you can wonder why there's not one person on here (AFAIK) who has done such a swap and then look around the internet at the myriad of 330/325 etc e46 drivers who have considered the swap of e46m3/csl brakes.
Take your pick. :D

Yeah perhaps. I'd rather not be, but if you don't know what you're talking about, don't go and contradict the correct information, particularly when someone is asking for advice. It's not like it's the first time either :headbang:

D4dawg, the tone of your reply is out of order. By all means disagree, but their are more polite ways of doing it. :(
