if you got a really clean car... then it only adds to the coolness!! lol..

Looking at best part of 10k now days once its all fitted and duties paid... probably abit more... Still monster performance puts it into the serious league.... worth very penny, the car feels SO special, sounds so special , and the performance is quite literally nuts.

Simpsons told me not to expect change from £10K when I asked them for a quote a year or so ago.

I've been planning to do this / dreaming of doing this (depending on heart or head) for a few years. Until I know the final cost of my wedding later this year, I'm holding off spending the money...yet!

Of note, my current insurance policy through Adrian Flux allows me to add a supercharger for just an admin fee with no addition to the premium.

VT2-525
Currently $8295 for the VT2 vs $6795 (USD) for the VT1 setup. Once you add in import duties and labour, the difference in cost between the two is negligible when compared with the overall outlay, but the difference in performance and benefit of additional cooling should be significant.

I think you can go too far, although no detriment and wont ruin the cars character the S54 is great as it is. Not too much power not too little.

Thing I found with it is that its not difficult to drive fast and the chassis feels good with the power (coupe, I have no experience with the Roady). Other cars in the same class like the Boxster and Cayman are as quick but just feel under powered and feel like they could do with a bit more. Never really felt like the M needed more.

I'm not 100% sure but once you go down this route the £ starts to add up quickly and the more you need to replace to get the power up. Which means taking it back to stock is not really on the cards.

TBH its a lovely low miler and I think that's where it should stay. I would be looking for a higher miler in good nik that you can tinker with, 80+k cars are sitting at the 12-13k mark and there wouldn't be much detriment to their future value. But then having two is a bit silly.

Just my 2p.

A possible con could be how the car handles/corners at high revs.
I know the VT2 keeps the character of the s54 with the power higher in the rev band but I wonder what it would be like taking a corner at say 6k rpm.
What I mean is that I currently downshift just before a corner to say 2nd/3rd gear to keep the revs at about 6k revs, I then take the corner & accelerate out. When feeding the throttle progressively the car is stable and catapults out of the corner.
By adding the SC, would we be able to do the same or would it be too much power at high revs and make the car too tail happy?
Also, I love downshifting for gear braking, would this be bad for the SC?

These are all things to consider as there a particular things we love about our cars that not everyone might care about and losing that would ruin the car.

Ignoring the cost, resale and sacrilege of ruining a Z4M s54… there could still be other cons which are deal breakers.

if you want more power. makes more sense to just sell and buy something else.

mate of mine looking at a GTR they can be had for around £35K with 20K miles on them. or look at a 370Z which are more of a scene car and lots of modding potential.

i'd hate for you to butcher your roadster. especially since it's a extremely well looked after M. it's a future classic. i wouldn't ruin it. future buyers would want an OEM factory original spec. keep it stock IMO. it's more than capable. modding is a money pit. always made more sense to just buy a more powerful car in the first place. with yours being a future classic and all keeping it stock should be a priority IMO.
