Pros:
Amazing sound
More HP
More Torque
Better software than the stock
It is something that can be undone

Cons:
Cost
If the tune goes wrong you are f@#ked
Takes time to take all the necessary parts, it is not something plug and play.

Maybe those links can help you more:

On the site if you search it has many more information about those issues and some amazing cars that have done it.

http://www.eventuri.net/products/z4m/

Saw one of these at the Newlands Corner meet ... direct drop in, no remap, +10+BHP and better sound (which is a major disappointment in the Z4MR)

How much are these? Have had a quick look but can't seem to find a price.

That's the price for a Gruppe-M.

The eVenturi was more like £600.
Trigger’s Z4MC
Some bits now over 163,000 miles, some less than 1,000 miles.
Individual Ruby Black, Individual extended champagne leather, plus many options

You will need to get an alpha-n map. Yes it is old and a bit of a bodge, but can work well.
The M3 guys these days are all using the CSL MAP sensor to do the tune properly, but as far as I know this is not possible with our DMEs.
I had a Geoff Steel box a while back, it made a great noise but be aware that it is a wet layup item so aesthetically it is not as good as others.
I think the smart money these days goes to Karbonius.

IMO Many things can go wrong if the tune is wrong or a mistake happens during the procedure.
The tune may not be stable and the rpms are not steady.
The tune is not installing in the car.
The tune may be interrupted during its installation accidentally.
The tune is installed perfectly but is not finalised and accepted as finalised by the DME.

And all those trial and error things take so much time. The needed time to read only the DME is more around one hour.

Hello!

I'd love to hear the difference between this, my Gruppe M and Eventuri. I love the noise mine makes with the Gruppe M fitted and struggle to appreciate the potential improvement without hearing a direct comparison.

Tbh the eventuri intake looks to be the better bang for buck at a 1/4 the price? This is what I'll be going for with the exhaust mod.

I think all of those things (assuming you have a good tuner) are very unlikely, and to say the car would be f***ed is a bit melodramatic. The car will run ok with a standard map, (it reverts to it's own 'alpha-n' map (i.e maf has failed)) but of course you will get no benefits.

Yes it is probably better vfm, but make no mistake, an eventuri really doesn't approach the sound qualities of a CSL style box, the difference is big. I've driven both btw, and I'm pretty sure the owner of the other car would agree with me. Then factor in the known hp gains and it doesn't seem such a bad idea, particularly as the karbonius boxes are fairly cheap and you can have the tune done for £400.
