Normally when ordering a M2 at this moment, the waiting time in Europe is +/- one year… I had some unexpected luck with taking over a canceled order of someone else at my local BMW garage who could not get the finance deal covered. I could still configure the entire car and delivery is in 5-6 months (but definitely in 2016!).

Pretty exited and will be happy to drive another car, then 11 years in the same 325i touring (my current daily car). I love the chassis, the steering and the smooth 6 cylinder engine of my e46 325, but I think the M2 will be a very nice replacement that will make me forget the 325i. When not driving the M2...the Z4M is also in the garage for some kick ass steering and smooth NA engine feel in a topless body :)

what made you decide against the GT4 / spyder route for z4m replacement?? did you feel the jump wasn't big enough for the cost? ( which is my opinion anyway btw) I've also noted they seem well done on power only making 350-360hp which when you think the s54 which is really old now isn't that fair off... and that engine is no- where near as special.

super good call on the M2 , i can wait to hear your comparison between the ///Ms.

Great news! I enquired about ordering last Monday and was told if ordering now it would be more like 2019 before you'd get the car :o and after driving that cooper S, I'd defo go manual again. So much fun! How I've missed it.

I still adore the Spyder and GT4. For me that are the two car I would trade in my Z4M. There is indeed a big price difference between those two. Maybe one day I will own a more track dedicated car like a GT4 or Exige. Those cars are awesome and in my opinion a step above my 10 year old Z4M. I still love my Z4M and there is zero rush to replace the car. At the end of the day a GT4 or Spyder is indeed a lot of money for a car that I use occasionally (weekends, free days) and sits in the garage most of the time. When I look at my current situation; I drive my e46 325i 80% of the time (daily car) and my Z4M 20% of the time (sun, fun & track).

Before buying another fun car I decided that I wanted a new daily car that replaces my 12 year old e46 325i M-tech estate ( miles). A daily that was fun, a bit more special and still practical for my needs of driving to work, to the store, ski trips. A wagen, touring, estate would be nice...but for me it is not 100% necessary when not having kids.

When making a "want to buy" list 2 used cars where taking the lead of my list; 2013 C63 AMG wagon & 2014 Alpina B3 touring Biturbo (no X-drive). Then there was the launch of the M2...every review was positive about the car. Last month I decided to do a test drive (with manual & DCT). I ended up speccing out and ordering my first new car with delivery at the end of 2016. The M2 will be my new daily and replaces my old 325i....so I will drive it more then the Z4M. I'm exited about the idea of having two totally different M-cars in my garage. Whatever of the two M-cars I take it will always be a bit special :)

Offcourse not ;) I know people with 4x M-cars.... On this forum I don't know if there are other people with more then one BMW M, but it is not so strange...it makes perfect sense :)

If I was rich I would have all of the significant M cars in my car shed from the 80s to today. And I would drive them all and love life.
