Wheels are in for blinging!

Well, now I've decided to keep the car for at least another year I've decided to bling up the OEM wheels.

I did think of gold
then eventually settled on gloss black :o
Sage heads on here suggested satin/matte black might look better so I had decided to go with that

BUT when I arrived at The Wheel Specialist in Manchester the matte finish looked a little boring so I discussed options and they had a nice Aston wheel that also had a five split spoke design and that was done in 'Flash chrome'. So the wheels are getting done in that! 8)

Not sure if I'm going to love it or hate it but I'll wait until I see them on the car. I'll be selling the other set of OEM wheels which are currently on the car and are in excellent condition.Or I may sell the flash chrome ones if they don't suit :headbang: Either way heads up for a nice set of OEM alloys. Will be doing some pics and put them in the 'for sale' section in the next week or two.

Here are some examples of 'Flash Chrome' to give you an idea...

Yes, I think the idea is that the edges of the spokes which on our wheels are quite narrow are 'chromed' and the wheel itself is left much darker. The rim can also be highlighted. Hmmm we will see..... :)

Mmm sounds tasty, I looked at matt black a couple of weeks ago but something just not right about it. Flash chrome will really suit the spokes of the ///M wheels.

Not sure when they will be ready. Told them to take their time and do a good job. I mentioned discount as the code we have on here is now out of date apparently. I was offered 25% off which is their current winter deal. They are also planning a BMW car club event in Manchester to show what they do. I'll see if I can get the details on that as well.

I'll post pics as soon as I have them back :)

OK wheels are done and on the car. Been driving past a few shop windows to see how they look on the move!! Sad man :)

I know it's only an effect of the paint, but it looks like they painted the area where the spokes join the rim in a different colour

Thanks for the positve comments guys  The finish is very good, very shiney black base colour with the silver overlaid to create the 'chrome' effect. Should look good on a sunny day. Something different that's not a CSL. :)

The Wheel Specialist had a Z4 'Sport' wheel (can never remember the numbers!) with the multi spoke design done in flash chrome and it looked stunning.

I love the finish, very similar to the colour I had my CSLs done.

Tho I can't work out if the silver/chrome highlight effect that has "over-run" onto the dish where the spokes meet the edge of the rim was intentional or not?
