You had me worried when you said 'cut'! I had visions of angle grinders etc!

The carbon roof looks great. If you leave it un-lined it acts like a large patchy panoramic sun roof where you get thin spots in the weave

I too thought that this was going to be a post from an enlightened, if not slightly bonkers, coupe owner!

Seriously, can you drive around a bit with it off and give us your thoughts? :D

Would love to do carbon targa panel conversion one day. Feels like the holy grail of coupe ownership!

I actually made an enquiry a couple of months ago to a company about doing this :D Bit of a pipe dream though to be honest

I used to have a 968 and the lift out roof panel was really great, miss it.

Did you get a response? I reckon a two panel system using the shape of the “double bump” and a fixed centre section to keep the joints clean and to avoid having to weld in additional fixing tabs. Then push turn fasteners in all four corners on the underside.

I can see how you’d make the panels - potentially by “cutting and shutting” a CF roof with additional CF end plates. Custom rubbers seals might be the tricky bit.

yeah that would have been, but the z3 has a roof too. I have to build one of those wooden stands so i can store the roof for the z3.
