Hi all,

I have for sale a complete sound generator and the rubber boot required to fit it to your car. I bought this a few months back from classiccarspares on ebay, but no longer require it as I've had my exhaust modded instead.

Retrofitting this to your car also requires the rubber boot replacement which includes the hole in the side for the sound gen to fit in.

Happy to sell for what I paid for it. Sound gen was £35, and the rubber boot was £26 including my BMW privilege club discount, so £60 + delivery which should be about £4

A worthwhile mod for 2.2 and 2.5- love it in my 2.2 and easy to do.

Cheers Paddy, it really is. Sounds absolutely brutal with all the foam out. Had I not had the exhaust done it'd still be in situ :)

Was the 3.0 rubber elbow a straight fit. The reason I ask is I'm thinking of trying my 3.0 without it on at all and just going down the exhaust route. So I'm interested to know if the 2.2/2.5 version would fit a 3.0.

You'll need to buy a rubber boot without the hole in side side. An easy replacement and £30 from BMW. Part No. 7514880

I just wanted to check the aperture of the boot is the same on the 3.0 as the 2.5 before buying anything

Can't say 100% for the 2.5, but my 2.2 to the 3.0 was a direct replacement. I don't imagine it'd be different for the 2.5 though!

The boot is a direct swap but you also need the gasket ring (item 7 in the diagram) to ensure a good fit as it is slightly narrower.
