a massive shout should go to Alan for managing to keep this going. I know how hard its been for him. Its also been disappointing that some people have had zedward and not even put money into the funds

Yep.. The bear is coming home.

The funding page has finished and he raised a total of £2,534 this year on his travels. A remarkable effort for a bear that was rescued when found the sitting next to the skip outside Tesco in summer 2015 ! Thank you to all who took part and to all those who donated.

Not only did Zedward raise some money. I think he was the catalyst that allowed people to meet and he also brought smiles and laughter to all who saw him bursting out of the Zeds along the way (especially the Roadsters).

I will arrange to pick him up off Phil (Vonlipvig) soon and then consider getting him over to Surrey to meet up with Lauren in the new year. (Perhaps even organise a little hoon along the M4 !)

Thank you one and all, including Pete (Taz) who also helped a great deal.

That's a great amount to have raised

Really enjoyed my time with Zedward even though he found it a little traumatic at times.

Good luck to Lauren and looking forward to the photos of when they meet up.

Amazing effort! Are you still accepting donations? Been away for a few weeks and never got round to it.

Hi MrPT

I cant accept any funds now as the page has closed, but you can donate direct to Laurens own page at :-
https://www.gofundme.com/laurenstummy just mention "BMW Z4" in your message and they'll know its from us

I've not spoken to Lauren's Mum for several weeks now but I notice that she has posted a latest update on her own page as follows:

1st December:
After almost 10 weeks as an inpatient locally, Lauren has finally been taken on by Kings after rejections from GOSH and Royal London. Thankfully they have agreed to both accept her into their neurogastro multidisciplinary team and arrange home TPN for us. No idea when, and we know it will take up to 6 weeks from when we get there, but soon we could be on the road to going home!

Being set up to manage Lauren's current situation at home is our first priority, and then I will be pushing Kings to do all they can to work out what is causing Lauren's bowel to become progressively less responsive. With the help of a multidisciplinary team I am hopeful that her symptoms can at least be stabilised so that her suitability for the gastric pacemaker can be revisited.

I am also making some enquiries in both the US and Australia to see if there is any benefit in getting some input from specialists overseas.

Hope you all have a lovely Xmas. x

She is only £2000 short of her original target of £15k and we still have £700+ (net of fees) to forward on now, so I know that they will both be extremely grateful for all of our efforts this summer.

That's great, doesn't seem 5 minutes ago that we were in the carpark at the end of the English Welsh meet and he set off on his epic journey. Well done.
