I've read up a fair bit so far, common issues being the coking and DRC but they're not as wallet busting as score boring on a Cayman which is also a potential choice.BMWZ4MC wrote: ↑Mon Aug 14, 2017 10:54 am It's essentially the same engine, so I would be surprised if the differences are major. Also, they're all automatic.
My poor economy relates to my driving style for the most part. I'm regularly driving hilly country lanes with little traffic, which encourages a heavy foot. If I'm stuck behind someone who dawdles, I can see high teens.
The other running costs are not insignificant and I would do as much research as you can before considering buying one as there are a few expensive problems that can arise. I think an E9X M3 or E63 AMG would be just as bad on both fronts though.
When I'm commuting I do about a third each of A road, motorway and town across 26 miles each way. So if I can see over 20 on 2/3 by driving without a heavy foot it might be a more realistic choice. I also fancy a more up to date cabin but the B7 is hardly archaic.

Some great suggestions. I would be tempted by an E9x M3 plus a substantial kitty for lightweight bits and KW DDCs.
Wildcards would have to be a Cerbera 4.2 or Evora!
