Classic car owners?

Post by Mr Tidy » Thu Oct 26, 2017 12:38 am

Very nice Steve.

I particularly like your Fiats (I had a couple of 70s models many years ago).

Just wondering about your 124 Spider - did you get them with RHD in Australia, or has it been converted? They were never sold with RHD in the UK.
Coupes because stunning!

No, Mr Tidy, you're correct. They were never produced in RHD. This one was shipped over from California before I stripped it down and converted it during the restoration process. Somehow a tuned, 2-litre, twin-Webered 131 Superbrava engine and gearbox found their way into the build as well, so it goes a lot harder than the asthmatic engines from the US. :)

I just love seeing all these classic cars. I did the North Norfolk St George's 'Drive it Day' this year - over 400 cars. Just makes you think how many garages have something special in them as you drive down the average road in the UK.

Keep posting those pictures

Lovely!

I looked at a 1600cc spider back in the early 80s, but it was a poor example at a dodgy back-street traders place in Streatham so not for me!

Shame they never did RHD - they were so advanced compared to all those MGBs!

Don't see many Alfetta's around these days - what an engine!
