I watched the original last week also but as I had never seen it before I thought it was a fine movie for it’s time. I saw a lot of things that later were copied to some extent in more recent flicks, the style was one, the elevating cars etc reminded me a lot of the 6th Element, things like that all through it. Now I might just get the new one in 4K disc format .....

As I was watching the original I was thinking they better hurry up and get flying cars into production as the film was based in 2019!
Did people really think that was what the world would be like not so far into the future?

Original? There are a number of alternative endings available on disc.

I shall not go and watch the latest rip-off sequel, it cannot be anything like as good as the original, one of the best films of all time.

Ray's soliloquy as he dies is one of the finest bits of acting ever.

BMW M2C - gone, replaced with an i4, but its only use is shopping, the Z is our main touring vehicle

Saw it 2 nights ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. As good as the original. Did like that they still had a PanAm neon sign up in the city. Was amused that the cars were Peugeots

Just because one thing is not as good as another doesn't mean it should be disregarded; 'All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain' :P

I re-watched the final cut again two weeks ago in preparation for 2049 and from what the reviews are saying it sounds exactly how i hoped it would be. Off to see it next week!

Couple of guys in the office talking about this today. They thought it was as good as the original, if a bit too long. :)
