Guardian alloy wheel protection device?

http://www.guardianwheels.co.uk/

Came across this in a supermarket car park at the weekend. They had a couple of Jags there and the fitted product looked great. Slightly tempted at the intro price of £100 for all 4 wheels.

Has anybody come across this before? Any thoughts?

Aren't these just a (more expensive) copy of Alloygators, that have been around for decades?

Getting these types of protectors fitted properly is very important.

They are known for coming off at speed and then damaging bodywork.

Indeed - I had thought this, therefore would be more inclined to pay for them to be fitted than try it myself.

I guess what I'm interested in is whether this type of product is any good or not? Does anybody on here have this or something similar installed?

I had the Alloygators fitted to one of my previous cars. I got them to fit them and met the guy who invented the product. The product really works and was mighty tough. I once smacked the rear wheel on roundabout kerb when doing a tight right turn and the back of the car kicked out from the force. I stopped to expect to find a right mess of a wheel and all was fine and the Alloygator had not only saved any damage to the wheel, it was hardly damaged its self.

I'd say they look neater than the alloygators, as there is no unsightly clip joining the ends together, it's a lot less "in your face" than the others, and I like the fact there are different profiles available. Also, according to the website, it's in two pieces and the top can be replaced easily if it's damaged or you want to change the colour. Shame the website isn't a bit more detailed, especially regarding the warranty!

I believe the £100 was all in (as an introductory offer). I have a flyer kicking around at home but am away for the long weekend - I'll dig it out and put a picture up next week.

It is on their facebook page. To be honest it looks very unobtrusive and not a bad idea at all at 25 a corner to save your wheels.
