CSL reps that I can swap existing tires straight onto.

Post by soundb0y » Wed Jan 25, 2017 11:31 pm

So I finally fancy some new wheels for the z. However I have some very new tires on my 108s already. Usual 225/45/18, 255/35/18 sizes.

Are there any nice CSL replicas that could be a direct swap and use the existing tires? If not it's probably going to be a bit too pricey.

Cheers

Thanks for response, kinda like the look of those first ones.

And they would fit the same tires? Still can never get my head around them.

Plenty... Go for 18x8 or 8.5 and 9-9.5 rear and you'll.be fine. Check eBay.

Excellent thanks, will have a proper look later today and see whats about.

For arguments sake what size wheels could I look at re above tire sizes.

edit: liking the look of the riva DTMs at the moment, but would 18s ruin the concave look? The lrn cyclones look nice but not as oem. Also what et should I be looking at with that rubber? If I cant get anything decent with my tires ill have to leave it unfortunately.

Im on a full bilstein b12 kit with eibachs.

Been reading for hours and im more confused than when I started!

Out of interest I think you'll find the usual tyre size for 108s is 225/40/18 on the front.

I'd do a bit of a check on how they look first before going for them. On my opinion the 18s don't quite look right - the 19s look awesome... But you definitely won't get your new tyres on them!

Some on here have got the 18s and are perfectly happy with them so it really is personal preference....

I second what Ed Doe says, 108s are nicer than 18" CSLs imo. I'd also go for branded reps, I was really disappointed with the unbranded ones I bought, the quality of the finish was poor.

18's do not look good I agree! :) which is why I'm not going for CSL's for my 2nd set.

ideally looking for M wheelset which in my opinion looks great.

Thanks for all the info.

Totally get where you are all coming from. Would love the 19s, just seems a lot of money with tires for something not definitely needed!

Currently on 108s which I do like but not too sure on the dual tone colour scheme the previous owner had done.

I'll go back to looking for an aero kit instead,,,,one day one will pop up cheap on ebay!

Have you got spacers on your 108s? They look a lot better with spacers on, not sure what BMW were thinking with the original offsets!

No I haven't actually, was just thinking that while looking at it earlier. Is it normally just the rear that they are fitted to or both? Any specific ones to look for?

When I had 108s I put 20mm on the rear and 15mm on the front and it was a massive improvement. I got these ones, which came with the extended bolts.
