New wheels?

Post by Steven4018 » Sun Apr 19, 2015 4:03 pm

Hi everyone,

I'm thinking about getting some new wheels for the zed, how do you reckon these will look? http://www.cmwheels.com/index.php?route ... uct_id=350

Please forgive my ignorance here, I have no experience with wheel buying AT ALL!! Lol.

Cheers,

So I've been having a think over the weekend, and rather than spending my hard earned cash on a new set of wheels and tyres, Im thinking I'll try and make the equivelant funds (£900'ish) go a bit further. :)

With my wedding coming up in September this year and the zed playing a staring role, I'm now planning to get my current 108s refurbished in gunmetal grey within the next month. And the whole car detailed to within an inch of its life in mid-late August ready for the wedding pics

I've already been in contact with a local detailing company and have planned to get the car done to their top standard, detailed on the link below...

http://www.detailmycar.co.uk/ultimatedetail.html

Been quoted £600 for the job and told they would need the car for at least a week. Not too bad a price compared to others I've seen.

Does anyone have pictures of refurbished 108s in gunmetal grey? Or similar colours? Trying to gauge how they're likely to look once done.

Regards,

1st off you need to see the companies "gun metal grey" as grey is a colour that has sooooooo many different shades you may end up with a colour you don't like ?
2nd does your car need a £600 makeover :? a weekends work wth some decent products can have great results which could free some cash to maybe lower the car & fit spacers which together with freshly refurbed 108s might have a more dramatic effect on the eye ? jmo & not trying to tell you how to spend your hard earned :P
hell you may even have enough for some aero skirts from £900 :driving:

Fair points Andy :)

Aero skirts aren't something I'd considered tbh. May well be worth a deeper look into.

And although I don't have all the gear to do a detail myself, when I spend 6 hours cleaning the car, it does come up pretty spotless :D

Not too sure about lowering the car, the arch gap doesn't strike me as an issue. Would spacers still give an impression on standard height though?

I know your the 'wheel guru' on here Andy, do you have any refurb'd 108s in the pipeline? would rather get them done/bought through someone on here if I can.
