cold weather and pss's

have got my pss's fitted on the mc very happy, but read somewhere a while back that these are a summer only tyre, would i really notice a difference below a certain temperature or just a scare story

I use mine all year round, and as long as you're careful for the initial 5-10 minutes in sub-7° temps then they're fine. The road may stay at sub-7, but the tyres warm up and perform very well.

Sleet & light snow are no problem. Ice or settled snow and you'll want to stay at home.

I carry a set of snow-socks for winter, but not had need to use them in almost 6 years and 110k miles.

True, PSS on snow and ice and you'll have to change your underwear.

I had that experience the winter before last, so now have a 2nd set of wheels shod with winter tyres. Blow me but there was no snow or ice last year.

I'm ready for it this year. Bring it on.

Other than on snow and ice these are brilliant tyres.

Generally yes, and I was pointing out that the PSS is no worse and require no different care in the winter than any other 'max performance' tyre would be.

Don't mean to hijack thread but as we're talking pss's, how do you find it in the wet eg standing water at motorway speeds?

Seem fine to me, but then my extra weight probably helps

Not aquaplaned on them yet, but have felt the odd 'tug' when forced to go through puddles at the side of country lanes (due to 4x4s not moving over enough).
