Boot lid hydraulic/pneumatic rams ........are mine weak ?

Post by Dietcokeman » Thu Nov 10, 2016 9:02 am

Not sure if this is an issue or not but I've noticed that when I pop the boot lid open and raise it by hand the lid hydraulic/pneumatic rams seem very lazy and I have to assist the opening by hand all the way up. It holds ok when up but seems overly heavy when lifting . I have my weetabix each morning so not an issue as such :D but can't help thinking that maybe the boot lid should raise itself like the bonnet does once over the initial lift ?

Mines the same. I changed the rams when I first got the car ( non OEM rams) and it hardly made any difference. I think its just a poor design

It's either a poor design, or the corrosion is weighing down your boot lid :poke:
