You sure its not been impacted? There are some marks on the lens above the cracks? I'd say good job on the warranty.

Definitely not been hit there is nothing to feel on the surface but if you look closely with a magnifying glass it all seems to be at the rear of the housing, I'm guessing it's a stress fracture maybe due to the boot closing ? I honestly don't know but am sure its not due to an impact.

Well the lights been changed and they have apparently checked the other and found no issue, I asked if they had any inkiling why it had cracked but nada, but She said that BMW are very hot on warranty claims so it must have been legit or they would have rejected it, so im a happy bunny, only thoughts I have is the boot shutting as I tend to slam it shut instead of letting the soft close do its job, so I now drop it from 4" and let it shut itself

Checked my offside this morning, it's cracked at the bottom in several places and around the sides. Looks like there ain't much keeping it on and if it keeps up the lends cover looks like it could detach.

Yes, fortunately. It's a joke really. I had the third brake light on the E88 actually detach itself from the car. Funnily enough BMW had a notice out for that. You can see where the seal is detached.

I've got a similar problem with mine. Noticed the light surrounds weren't as clear on the drivers side rear light as on the other side. Got Dealer to have a look at it this morning when I dropped it off for the mot and they've called to say it's a problem with the seal, that it's not covered by the AUC warranty and can't change the seal without changing the light.

sat in the dealership atm waiting to collect the car and have a more detailed explanation but it doesn't sound like the seal is fit for purpose and thy have admitted there is a problem. Does anyone have any experience of getting this sorted under the AUC?

Tell them you're part of a forum where a significant amount of owners have had this issue and have had them replaced. Tell them to contact BMW UK and ask they provide a free replacement. While that might be a stretch, you might get some money towards them being replaced as a gesture.

I'm on my FOURTH set, all FOC by BMW UK after a bit of argument. This set has been on for around 2 years now and is, touch wood, fine, so perhaps they've sorted out whatever the issue was now.
