I keep looking at VX220's. It's an itch, just don't know if I should scratch or not.

Window winders Steve, you will be setting a new standard for flimper spec
Go for it Steve - for the miles you do on the M, you may as well go full hard core.

Cheers guys. I'm open to options but the z4M has really caught my eye. My previous car was a V8 6 series (modified) and I miss the sound but not a massive fan of the Audi's and I have had the only V8 BM I really liked.

Just sold my VX220 NA so i can make the exact same step. Think the BMW will offer a little more refinement and heaters that actually work compared to the VX

if I was going to spend £14k on a VX, I think i'd save a couple more and wait for a VXR220....still plenty powerful, but then you have the rarity factor (not to mention the potential residual benefits of the rarity of the OEM spec)

You are literally just paying for the extra R on the badge then though. It would be half the spec of this but just cost more! I would appreciate that if this was just a standard turbo, but the engine and suspension near on meet the asking price of the car. It's also potentially one of (if not) the cleanest one on the uk!

Not trying to knock your car, I'm sure it really is fantastic, but you're getting a bit more than just the "R".J13ME wrote:You are literally just paying for the extra R on the badge then though. The VXR had a different turbo, ECU, exhaust, free flow air filter, uprated Bilstein coilovers, different wheel / tyre set-up and the chassis is significantly more rigid than the turbo, all of which lead to a decent uplift in BHP and torque over the turbo model....more than just an "R" in the badge.
The real appeal for me is that the VXR is OEM spec, a limited edition run and reaches 60 in 4.2s, half a second quicker than the turbo, has 220BHP, 20 more then the turbo and 300Nm of torque, 50 more than the turbo, as well as all of the handling upgrades too.
From your advert, I don't doubt that your car would dominate a VXR around a track, but for me I'd go with the VXR....but then I'm not a fan of modding.
