TMP wrote: Sun Sep 10, 2017 10:58 am Hi,

How many owners in total?
And last service was carried out by German Motor Works, where abiuts are they based?

Cheers
Hi TMP. I am the 5th owner of the car. German Motor Works are based in Radcliffe, Bolton, BMW Specialist.

I can't remember where Mark Hamer had plied his trade, Sytners or Halliwell Jones. This only went to him for an oil change and general health check up earlier this year.

Paul
Thanks Paul.

I am south mcr based so you are only down the road, so would pop over this weekend, but seems I am busy, and my M2 is also getting collected hopefully...

If car is still available, will look to drop in maybe next week...

Cheers,

Tim
No problem Tim. I have since found out that Mark Hamer was based at Williams BMW in a previous life. Car is still available at present.

I am going to need to take her out at some point so if you are not too far away, I may bring her to you. I got her all cleaned up and she hasn't moved since, mainly due to time and weather.

Paul.

lovely lovely car, low miles , great long term forum car, buy with confidence.....

This is how you want them, silver despite being a boring colour is very rare on the //M models and really shows off the cars lines so well.

Thanks for your comments Beedub.

Did a price drop this morning but I am beginning to think we should keep her. Problem is that she may not get a great deal of use. We bought the replacement thinking she would shift fast but probably a bad time of year to sell.

Nice to have two cars for best in the garage...lol.

Thanks Step_change. Looking like we are going to keep her at present. I will let the Auto Trader ad run it's course but then we can enjoy her for a couple of meets over the winter. She won't be going out on salted roads though... :o

Cheers Andy. Not sure if I am slightly relieved as I have never had as much fun in a car as this is. Not really used the Cayman yet to know whether is better / more fun etc. My gut feeling is that it is a more precise / better insulated car and it doesn't half get some looks while pottering about.

The M is a raw, natural sounding car and it makes me giggle every time you go out for a spin. I am also not overly bothered about leaving it in town as it doesn't stick out like the Porsche.

Going to Scotland on Saturday and not sure which one to take..... :D

Hi Rich,

Although I may sabotage a potential sale. I think we are taking the Cayman. The Zed is sat in the garage and perfectly clean, by the time I get to Melrose, she will be filthy. Wife's birthday weekend too, so I am not sure how well it will go down doing a car viewing then... :o

I am going to run her till February and then make a decision.

Good call and well done on keeping your beauty

Thinking positive, if you decide to re-advertise her next spring - maybe prices will pick up again?

Cheers..

Thanks Woolybear. She is kind of "part of the furniture" now. My main issue was space but I am keeping my track car at work so we can manage in the short term.

I was shocked she didn't go but suddenly there were 8 more cars on AT and 4 were silver. Only meant to be 51 silver MR's ever made and 9% of them were up for sale.

Car market in general seems abit slow but its a real shame seeing all these z4m trading so low... not even worth getting shot at this price point, store the thing away for a few years i say and try again....
