Hi all, I noticed the passenger window seemed to be struggling a little. Seemed OK going down, then would go part way up and stop. The motor seems fine, the mechanism just seems stiff. (2004 roadster)
With my partner pulling the window switch up I managed to physically pull the glass up to get it closed but obviously not going to open it again.
I was thinking of taking the door card and off and greasing up the parts or am I wasting my time and should just assume the window regulator is knackered?
I've looked at a few videos and changing the regulator looks complicated.
Anyone in the Essex area consider themselves expert at this and fancy having a go at mine (for a fee of course)?

There was what I could best describe as a 'groaning' noise.

Cable will be frayed, I would refrain from using it until you get a new one, as they can chew up other components. Did mine last year, about an hour with an Ebay £16.50 kit. Has been fine since.

Do you happen to have a link to the kit and any tips on how to fix this? My driver's side window packed in today. Motor still sounds like its running but the window stays put and doesn't open or close.Ducklakeview wrote: ↑Sun Aug 13, 2017 2:52 pm Cable will be frayed, I would refrain from using it until you get a new one, as they can chew up other components.
