Air Intake Pipe

Post by Carmad84 » Thu Apr 20, 2017 9:01 am

Morning all,

So I recently bought myself a 2.5 and one of the issues is that the intake pipe has started to perish so I need a replacement. My question is where is best to buy one?

Thanks,

If you mean the one going to the throttle body then BMW, there about £30. You could try Sopher BMW in Lincoln as they offer forum discount.
Its not worth fitting a secondhand one they all tend to perish so its a bit of a false economy.

They aren't expensive from BMW, I replaced mine (3.0Se) a couple of weeks ago, from memory it was less than £30 and in stock, so obv a common one. Mine had perished in several places.

Hi Mack, its part 6 on the diagram. Lincoln is a little far from me.

I wont be buying a second hand part, not worth the hassle. Was just wondering other than BMW whom would sell it i.e. cheaper!

Thanks,

Sopers Lincoln will deliver. If you can find a sound generator on eBay it may be worth adding one and buying the 3.0 intake boot rather than the 2.5. I did on my 2.2 and it sounds great!
