If the head unit is black it will play MP3's, of it's grey it won't.

I found out something interesting today.

when i have a passenger the airbag off light dissapears. then the headunit would play CD-R discs. then when the passenger gets out and i try and play the CD-R again it will not work.

due to resarch ive concluded that the previous owner of my Z had an AUX installed and now removed and possibly a cd changer as well. when they removed the aux and cd changer is there deprogramming that needs to be done?

No reprogramming required on the headunits, the bus automatically detect the unit - hence the no need to enter any activation codes.

CD changer and AUX are all independent settings on the unit, so if they have been removed it automatically detect it is no longer there.

The AUX and CD player are a plug (white) which can be inserted / removed from the quadblock without problems.
