Broken latch on roof.

I've stupidly broken the latch on the roof. This happened while I was refitting the Bluetooth unit in the centre console lid because of snapped cable. I removed the centre console as I have done a few times before, and got the old cable out. Once I had unscrewed and unclipped the centre console I realised that the top of it was trapped under the hood. Stupidly as I had disconnected the battery I thought sod it I’ll just pull it up a little. Bad idea, I heard a crack and the hood lifted up. On pulling the hood up I could see that I had broken the latch.

I unscrewed the latch and the repaired the clip and the glued back the piece I had snapped off.

I then lowered the roof hoping it would be fine. However I’m now not sure it’s sitting properly. Partly due to never taking much notice before. It sits with about a cm from the trim, is this normal?

The metal bracket which the hood rests on appears not to have been damaged and seems to be in the same place.

Anyone done this and had to get it repaired. Does mine sit at the wrong height, is it supposed to be flush with the trim?
Any help would be appreciated.

Jamie - bit of bad luck there. To me it looks like it's sitting just a little high as I cannot see underneath the front edge of mine at all.
The easiest way to tell is that the rear canvas should be exactly flush with the metal panel in front of the boot lid.

Check when it lowers that the canvas is folding in corectly at the sides.

Today driving home from work I could hear something flapping around. When I got it home I realised that my bodge job of gluing the latch back together had finally given up the ghost. Was wondering if anyone else has had to get it repaired and how much it cost? Just hoping I don’t have to replace the whole roof. Also wondered whether anyone may have the parts as a spare long shot I know.

The Z is going into the garage on tuesday for the roof latch to be repaired. Was looking at the parcel shelf yesterday when I noticed it doesnt seem to be holding its height in the middle of the shelf as it should do? So was looking to see how I can remove the shelf to take a look and see if there's any problems. However I havent got a clue how you do this and cant find anything on the forum. So has anyone done it, or had the same problem? If so could you give us a few pointers?
