Hesitation on Acceleration

Post by chrisgreen » Sun Dec 10, 2017 12:36 pm

So I replaced coil 4 then car was running lovely for about 2 mile short drive.

Left overnight (it was cold about 0) then started up and misfire now recorded on cylinder 1! I plan to change the remaining 5 coil packs but is it common for 2 to go in quick succession?

I think it would be fair to assume that they came from the same batch if original from factory.

Yes I don’t doubt that but seems highly coincidental that 2 fail within 2 days of each other?

Think it's par for the course, I'm no probability wiz but I'd expect a couple to fail close together from the same batch. Just like lights... when one goes, the other is surely not far behind.

An easy fix at least

Yep! Was pleased I did it myself actually and using online how to it’s easy! Saved a few ££ in labour whilst also learning about the car! Win win!

Exactly, what's the damage for coil changes, book time of an hour?? Infuriating.
