Windscreen washer jets

Post by Herbie33 » Sun Oct 08, 2017 9:55 am

Hi all

Not sure if it’s a common fault but the windscreen jets on my Z4MR emit no more than a dribble, pump makes all the right noises and the jets don’t seem to be blocked as water will come out and hit the windscreen but then stops.

Any ideas?

Cheers

It must be simple as i could do it. I didnt bother emptying the tank i just held my thumb over the hole to stop the fluid escaping. I then cleaned the filter one handed and popped it back in. All with minimal fluid loss. The post below shows you what to remove.

Yeah pretty easy to take out as said above on mine it’s a 10mm or 13mm bolt on top of the bottle and then pull the motor out of the side of the bottle and out it should come, I’m not sure if you have headlight washers as I think there will be another motor to pull out, other than that if it hasn’t been changed for a while prepare for a smelly slimy mess to come out as mine did. Feels good to know that you have fresh screen wash and clean filters though

Yes, easy fix (even for me)!

I had to flush the reservoir on my E86 and my daily E46 - just don't mix different fluids after you have done it!

Agree with the others. Mine was full of some sort of algae. Changed the filter and flushed out all the pipes.
